Advanced photography show opens to public

The Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation, Inc. invites the public to visit the advanced photography show and contest that opens on Saturday, October 8 at The Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. The show will run through Sunday, Oct. 23.  Hours of the show are Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. There is no admission charge. The Plaza Arts Center is located at 305 N. Madison Avenue.

Over 60 photographs  will be on display. In addition to photographers from Eatonton and Greensboro, others are from Madison, Macon, Decatur, Watkinsville, Savannah, Social Circle, Monticello, Gray and Marietta. A reception will be held on Oct. 7 for the photographers and at that time they will find out who won the ribbons in each category and the winners of the cash prizes will be announced. The judge for the show will be Mr. Lewis Bartlett who attended the University of Georgia and has a Batchelor of Fine Arts degree in photographic design. He has exhibited in several shows and galleries in San Francisco. He has also worked as a freelance photographer in the commercial and private sector. He has judged shows and taught a number of photography workshops and seminars. He and his wife live in Athens.

Bring your family and friends to view the outstanding photographs in the X-Treme Exposures Show and Contest Oct. 8-23. A show and contest for amateur photographers is scheduled for March of 2012.
