Calling all artists: Plaza Arts Center to host Amateur Juried Fine Arts Exhibition

The Plaza Arts Center announces the first Amateur Juried Fine Arts Exhibition and Show.
Applications and rules are available at The Plaza Office or by going on the website at
www.theplazaartscenter.com under the heading of Events and download. Brochures and information are also available at area banks, and select stores.
Applications, along with entry fee and digital photographs of artists’ submissions will be
accepted Jan. 10-20, 2012.
Artworks accepted for this show are: paintings, drawings, collages, etc. that are done by artists of amateur status as described in the rules.
Artwork can be oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, pen and ink or other medium. Artists must be sixteen years old or older and the artwork must have been executed within the last three years. For rules regarding size, frames, and other restrictions, please see the website for the Rules for Submission.
The submissions will be juried by the Art Committee Panel and notifications of acceptance via e-mail will be made by Wed. Jan. 25. Accepted artwork should be delivered Jan. 28-31, 2012, to the Plaza. Hours will be posted.
After hanging, a Guest Awards Judge, will critique the submissions and make awards. Ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place in the following categories: Landscape, Portrait, Contemporary, Still Life, and Abstract. A $500 cash prize will be awarded for Best in Show.
A Reception Honoring the Artists, their guests, Plaza members and dignitaries will be held prior to the Exhibition Opening. Awards will be presented at that time.
The free Exhibit will open to the Public beginning Saturday, February 11, 2012, through Sunday, February 19, 2012.
