Quilt guild highlights talents

There’s one thing the Lake Oconee Quilt Guild has no shortage of…talent! This active group has an opportunity each month to “show and tell” when members share their finished creations. Members enjoy seeing the accomplishments of their friends and sparking new ideas for their future projects.
Another monthly activity highlights one of the Guild members who speaks briefly as the featured member of the month. In October Bobbie Rainey shared her fascinating story including her whirlwind romance and marriage that has now lasted over 50 years. She spoke about and showed samples of how her interest evolved during her quilting years. The group was wowed by her talent and really enjoyed hearing about Bobbie’s life.
Everyone will soon be able to enjoy the products of this talented Guild. Look for upcoming news about the quilt show coming to Festival Hall in 2012.
The LOQG meets the first Tuesday of each month, September through June at the Lake Oconee Lutheran Church with gathering time beginning at 9:30 a.m. with meeting from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Guests are welcome. The next meeting is Dec. 6 and is the Guild Christmas Party.
