Redeemer Episcopal Academy gathered a record number of food items this year during its annual food drive to help needy families in the community. Students take part in the food drive each year as part of its service learning initiative. Last Thursday, former Putnam County commissioner Bob Landau arrived on campus to pick up the more than 425 cans of food for Food Source of Putnam County.
“What a wonderful blessing for needy families and such a statement that Redeemer kids really do uphold our motto of ‘Not only with our lips but in our lives’ by going the extra mile for those who are less fortunate,” said headmaster Jackie Campbell.
In coming weeks, Redeemer will partner with the Department of Family and Children Services to make sure families in need have a much happier Christmas. For more information, visit www.RedeemerAcademy.org or call (706) 484-1238.
