March 23

Spice up your spring and join the Steffen Thomas Museum for an exciting evening that will be muy callente — Cuban style!  At Havana Hideaway you’ll travel back to the 1950s when “Papa” Hemingway’s Havana was the capital city of glitz and glam. Known as the Paris of the Caribbean, Old Havana was the place to be for the hottest entertainment, meaning fabulous dances and music with a Latin beat — think Salsa, bongo drums, Carmen Miranda and Conga lines.

This night of adventure includes A Taste of Cuba Buffet Dinner catered by Hallie Jane’s of Madison (served 7:15 to 8:30).  Enjoy Entertainment Tropicana Style with dancing to music by Sally and the Six Grand Band, a spicy Cuban Salsa performed by Gwyneth Moody and Hugo Collantes, and Group Zumba lead by Ruth Porter.

This gala event is to support the STMA Arts Outreach Program with a silent auction, door prizes and raffles. Ticket price for the Havana Hideaway Gala is $60 per person/$110 for two, RSVP by March 23.

Loosen up your Mambo muscles and strap on your Salsa shoes for a night in STMA’s Havana Hideaway! Your best 1950s nightclub attire — from cocktail to casual, tutti-fruity hats optional but encouraged! Seating is limited, so for reservations call (706) 342-7557, or email info@steffenthomas.org.

Steffen Thomas Museum of Art is located at 4200 Bethany Road, Buckhead.
