On Saturday April, 28 from 8 a.m. until noon, Putnam General Hospital will hold the annual health fair out in front of the hospital.

This year’s health fair will include informational booths and many free health screenings.  Free screenings include blood pressure, glucose, vision, hearing, BMI and sleep disorders.  

The fair will also continue to offer complete blood work and PSA tests at a discounted price.  Blood work will be $45 and PSA will be $26. The health fair also included a new test 2 years ago year to check thyroid and will continue with that test this year. The TSH test will be priced at $24. If you would like to have blood work done that day, please do not eat eight hours prior to the test. The complete blood work includes a complete blood check, a lipid profile, and a comprehensive chemistry panel. The lipid profile will check cholesterol, triglyceride levels, HDL and LDL cholesterol. The comprehensive chemistry panel checks to make sure the liver and kidneys are functioning properly and checks the electrolyte levels of your blood.
