Harbor Club, a 1,000-acre master-planned community east of Atlanta on Lake Oconee, proudly announces its merger with Affiniti Golf Partners out of Atlanta. Affiniti will be responsible for the management of Harbor Club’s day-to-day golf and club operations. The decision to select Affiniti was based on their reputation and proven experience in the industry.
Affiniti Golf Partners and principles collectively hold more than 200 years of experience and currently either own or manage 20 clubs throughout the Southeast. Their duties within Harbor Club will include management of all golf operations as well as dining, maintenance, tennis, swim, and lodging functions.
“In our conversations with Affiniti Golf Partners, it was clear that their team holds a profound stake in all who spend time at Harbor Club,” said Harbor Club owner John Matney. “Whether it is the 20-year resident or the weekend golf vacationer, Affiniti’s significant presence in the Georgia golf market and knowledge of golf communities made them the easy choice to manage our club.”
Harbor Club is a debt-free residential golf community celebrating its 20th year under the direction of the Matney family out of Bristol, Va and Greensboro, Ga. Affiniti will manage a number of facilities within Harbor Club that include its challenging, yet friendly Weiskopf and Morrish designed golf course, the 15,000 square foot clubhouse designed by award-winning Southern Living architect Stephen Fuller, as well as the Swim and Tennis Center with its junior sized Olympic pool and double lighted tennis courts and the lodging functions of the Club Cottages.
“The opportunity at Harbor Club is wonderfully welcome,” said Steve Willy, founding partner at Affiniti. “Between the architectural pedigree of the golf course, the fiscal strength of the club and the pristine lake setting of the community, we have an uncommon opportunity to achieve their goal of continued prosperity.”
