Full-time minister appointed at First Baptist Church

The congregation of First Baptist Church in Eatonton is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Keithen Tucker as full-time minister.  Dr. Tucker served as interim minister at First Baptist Church since January 2011. During his interim tenure, 17 new members joined the church.

Tucker received his doctorate of Ministry from Drew University and his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Theological Seminary. He served as senior pastor in Washington, High Point and Lincolnton, N.C. His most recent ministry was director of marketing and development for Baptist Today, a national news journal, which focuses on keeping church leaders well informed of current issues impacting their ministries.

Dr. Tucker stated: “I am so excited about being called to the position of full-time Senior Pastor with First Baptist of Eatonton. We have so many wonderful ministries continuing to grow and reach the community through our children, youth, and music programs. We would like to invite everyone in the community to come and experience the warmth and love of the First Baptist family, followers of Christ who share His love and grace with all.”

Dr. Tucker is married to Sarah and they have two daughters and one granddaughter.
