The Crooked Creek Community Association is accepting donated items for this year’s yard sale, Sunday, June 10, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the association building, located at 160-A Crooked Creek Drive, next to Station 5 fire department. July 4
The Eatonton Harmonettes Ladies Barbershop Chorus is seeking new members to round out its wonderful sound. The chorus meets weekly on Thursday nights at Liberty Chapel, 269 Old Milledgeville Highway from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The first public performance is scheduled for the July 4 at Harbor Club. We will sing at 10:30 a.m. prior to the parade. It’s not too late for any ladies to join us. We are seeking ladies that like to sing and that can carry a tune without accompaniment as we are an A Capella chorus. At present we are working on music for our first show. It’s going to be in the flavor of a USO show with songs from the 1940s. We are encouraging everyone that likes to sing to pop in on a Thursday night, bring some water and prepare to have a great time with a lot of laughs! The Plaza Arts Center will again host Summer Art Camp July 16-20. This year’s activities include tie dye camp tee shirts, paper making, paper mache abstract pictures, weaving, play with clay and a poetry writing unit. This year we are introducing a modern style of jazzy clogging/tap dancing. No experience is necessary. The instructor, Cindy Epoch, will provide tap dance shoes for the campers to use. Ms. Cindy is a very experienced dance teacher. She promises everyone can learn and have fun doing it. Summer Art Camp hours are 9 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday. Campers must have completed kindergarten. The cost is $80 and preregistration is required. No scholarship funds are available at his time, but this may be a possibility in the future. The 2012 Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camp Season is gearing up with around 200 coaches and athletes that want to attend. To sponsor a local athlete or coach to attend FCA Camp this summer or for more information about scholarships for this year’s camps, email Jenny Miles at jmiles@fca.org.

Lake Oconee Landscape Association has formed to promote professionalism in the green industry, in the lake country. All members of LOLA are required to be licensed, insured and reputable.
