Greene Co. Habitat sponsors successful Vegas Night

During the evening of April 18, approximately 110 friends of Greene County Habitat for Humanity gathered at the club house in Harbor Club to enjoy an evening of gaming and fellowship. The GCHFH sponsored the second annual Vegas Night as a fund raising event to help build a house for families in need. The attendees were able to bid on numerous items in the silent auction and had opportunities to win door prizes. The big door prize, a four day, three night stay at the Atlantis in the Bahamas, was won by Justin Peacock. However, the biggest winner of the night was Greene County Habitat and ultimately the future partner families that have the opportunity to purchase a nice house for a reasonable price and no interest. This is possible because of these sponsored events and the donations of time, labor, money, and items by volunteer county-residents.
Vegas Night sponsors were LoanSouth (Jerry and Kelli Fowler) and an anonymous donor. The table sponsors were Lake Oconee Dentistry, Jay V. Dell, P.C. and BankSouth. Harbor Club donated the space at the club house and a dinner and golf outing for the silent auction. Many other items, too numerous to mention, were donated by friends of Greene County Habitat and we are very grateful to all who made the evening a huge success. Chairman of the Board of Directors, Theresa Kemp, stated: “This is a wonderful event hosted by our volunteers for the benefit of our families in Greene County. We are blessed to have many generous volunteers and donors involved in our organization.”
