Lake Oconee Elks Lodge 2849 awards scholarships

Three Greene County students have been awarded scholarships from the Lake Oconee Elks Lodge 2849. Two of the scholarships were awarded to students from Nathanael Greene Academy, James Long III, who will be attending Anderson University in Anderson, S.C., and Benjamin Wood, who will be off to North Georgia College & State University in Dahlonega.
Greene County resident, Brandon Lapp, attended Athens Academy and will go on to study at Georgia Tech.
The Elks Scholarships are awarded every year on local, district, state and national levels. Long also garnered a NE District and State award.
Those that go on to the national level, the Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship, can be awarded one of the 500 Four-year scholarships presented annually.
