The Greene County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its sixth annual “A Tasteful Event” fundraiser planned for 6 to 8 pm. Sept. 10 at the Parkside Commons at the Lake Oconee Village.

The fundraiser presents a great opportunity for restaurants all over Eatonton, Madison and the entire Lake Oconee area to showcase their food. In the past, the fundraiser has had food booths set up by anyone from Zaxby’s to the Ritz-Carlton.

With the lake country as its main focus, the Greene County Chamber Commerce hopes to see a wide range of restaurants sign up for the fundraiser.

The Tasteful Event is a great way to market restaurants, caterers and businesses to Greene County and the Lake Oconee Community. Restaurants are currently being recruited for the event and the chamber hopes to have the committee confirm the booths quickly in order to plan for the event.

Also happening at the same time will be a business expo for rising businesses in the Lake Oconee community. The Chamber of Commerce opens the expo up to members to showcase their businesses. All kinds of businesses are expected to participate in the event around the Lake Oconee area.

Dock 103, a sponsor of the event for many years, will provide the entertainment with music.

Although many of the vendors and businesses have yet to be confirmed by the Chamber of Commerce selection committee, the chamber ensures that the event will once again prosper as a means of promoting local restaurants and small businesses in a time of need.
