Dr. Ted and Karen Smith, of Smith Family Chiropractic at Lake Oconee, are pleased to announce the opening of their newest office, Pure Chiropractic Milledgeville on Log Cabin Road, behind Kroger.

With Dr. Jamie Adams at the helm, Pure Chiropractic Milledgeville opened its doors June 11 and is accepting new patients.

“Wellness Chiropractors are at the forefront of a wellness revolution,” said Dr. Smith. “Individuals and families are no longer satisfied with just treating their symptoms, like headaches and back pain; they want to improve their health, and we show them how.”  

When asked for an explanation of how chiropractic does this, Dr. Adams explains: “You live your life through your nervous system; everything in your body is controlled by nerves; the nerves are protected by the bones of the spinal column. When one or more of those bones misalign, it causes nerve interference; when the nerves can’t communicate with the brain, the body performs at a less-than-optimal level, sometimes resulting in pain, but more often, there are no symptoms until bigger problems have developed.  My job is simply to locate and remove nerve interference by correcting the misalignment. The human body is then free to heal itself.”  

As a mother, her focus is on families and children; Dr. Adams is excited to educate the families in this community on how to raise the healthiest kids.

When asked why Smith Family chose to open their newest wellness center in Milledgeville, Executive Director Karen Smith explains: “The Eatonton and Lake Oconee community will always be our headquarters, but the growing demand for true wellness care has given us a great potential to serve even more people.  The fact that many of our patients were driving past Log Cabin Road to get to Lake Oconee made this a very exciting development. Milledgeville’s many conveniences made this expansion seamless.”

Pure Chiropractic Milledgeville’s location at 130 Log Cabin Road, Ste B, is designed to serve Baldwin and surrounding counties.
