David Canavan, principal of Solutions Advisors LLC, Michael Harris, President of Cornerstone Senior Living and Andrew L. O’Connell, president of ALO Consulting LLC, Madison, are pleased to announce that they have entered into an agreement with Dr. Robert S. Cowles, a nationally recognized physician and founder and owner of the world-renowned Cowles Clinic, to develop a senior living community at Lake Oconee to be known as FountainCrest.

FountainCrest will be built on a 14-acre site fronting Old Linger Longer Road and Lake Oconee Parkway, across the street from the Cowles Clinic. The community will be developed in phases with the first phase consisting of 75 independent living apartments and cottages, 30 assisted living and 26 memory care residences.

Residents of FountainCrest will have a choice of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartment homes, and two and three bedroom cottages. For those individuals requiring more assistance in daily living, Fountain Crest will offer a choice of apartment sizes in its assisted living area and for those loved ones that are suffering from Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, the community will provide spacious residences in a caring, service-rich environment to include innovative programs designed to provide rehabilitative care for its residents.

FountainCrest will provide a comprehensive services and amenities package to all residents rivaling other upscale senior housing communities, but what will set Fountain Crest apart will be its Wellness Center. This state-of-the-art facility will consist of a fitness center, exercise studio, , sauna, examination and consultation rooms and a full-sized, indoor swimming pool. The Wellness Center will be overseen by Dr. Cowles and will provide a variety of health enhancement programs as well as access to physicians as part of a total wellness lifestyle for all residents.

According to Dr. Cowles, “Senior living is the number one need for residents of Lake Oconee and the Lake Oconee region. I am very pleased to be working with this team of highly experienced and professional individuals to bring this project to our community. Solutions Advisors is a firm that specializes in providing management, sales and marketing and financial advisory services to senior living communities. Its principals have more than 100 years of combined experience in working with communities just like FountainCrest. Cornerstone Senior Living has been successfully developing senior living projects in the southeast for over a quarter of a century. In Georgia, Cornerstone developed Brandon Wilde in Augusta, Carlyle Place in Macon, Spring Harbor in Columbus and Canterbury Court in Atlanta. I can state unequivocally that with this team in place my dream of bringing senior living to Lake Oconee will become a reality.”

Andrew O’Connell, who has developed other projects in the lake area, including the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation and Lake Oconee Village, states, “We have conducted a comprehensive study of the demographics of this area, which was also supported by a nationally recognized firm specializing in preparing market studies for senior living communities, and based on our findings we believe now is the time to develop this project. We plan to begin construction of FountainCrest in the summer of 2013.”
