Lake Oconee Dentistry will host a free dental care event in association with Dentistry from the Heart on Friday, May 31 at its office located at 1011 Parkside Main, between the Publix parking lot and Spotlight Theatres, in Greensboro.

Drs. David and Patti Bradley will be joined by their associate Dr. Phil Boswell, as well as Dr. David Miller, a local oral surgeon, to provide free extractions, fillings or cleanings. Lake Oconee Dentistry hygienists, dental assistants and other staff members will be donating their time and resources in order to provide free dental care to as many people as possible that day.

This is the fourth year in a row that Lake Oconee Dentistry has held this event. Last year’s one-day Dentistry from the Heart event provided over $30,000 in free dental care to the local community. Dentistry from the Heart has become a way for Drs. David and Patti Bradley to share their hearts with the lake area by making healthcare available and accessible to everyone.

“Now, more than ever, there are people in need of dental services who have no means to afford them — whether they are unemployed or experiencing some other serious financial difficulty,” says Dr. David Bradley. “Dentistry from the Heart is one of the many ways that Lake Oconee Dentistry is giving back and serving the people of the Lake Oconee area this year.”

Doctors and volunteers will treat the first 100 patients, and possibly more if time allows that day. Treatment will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Event registration will begin at 7 a.m. and patients will be seen through 5 p.m. Patients must be at least 12 years of age to be seen and accompanied by a parent or guardian if under the age of 18. Patients are encouraged to dress appropriately for the weather and to bring chairs, water, snacks, etc. as they wait outside for their turn. Community volunteers and other local groups, including Lakeside Church, St. Vincent de Paul and Goodwill Industries, will also be on hand to assist that day.

Dentistry from the Heart is a registered national non-profit organization with a simple mission — making people smile. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Vincent Monticciolo in New Port Richey, Fla., Dentistry from the Heart was created to offer free dental work to aid those in need, including the growing population of under-served Americans. Without sponsored events like Dentistry from the Heart, dental care simply isn’t an option for many people. In the past seven years, Dentistry from the Heart has helped more than 70,000 patients and provided over $30 million in dental care.

Drs. David and Patti Bradley opened Lake Oconee Dentistry in 1998. In addition to providing standard preventative maintenance exams and cleanings, Lake Oconee Dentistry offers short-term orthodontics, cosmetic enhancements, dental implant placement and restoration, teeth whitening and oral appliances for snoring and sleep apnea. Dr. David and Patti Bradley are proud to be recognized as “Best Dentist” by the readers of the Lake Oconee Breeze, as well as being named “2012 Small Business of the Year” by the Greene County Chamber of Commerce.
