WOW offers weight loss consulting, wellness programs and diabetes education. Programs range from one-on-one consulting that offer individualized plans and support to monthly group meetings for clients that offer education on living a healthy lifestyle. Meetings vary from cooking with fresh herbs to taking a field trip to the grocery store to know what to buy and what to avoid.
WOW will be serving healthy milkshakes and weight loss coffee and tea Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. Customers will also be able to purchase healthy treats such as pecan oil, chocolate covered almonds, healthy shake powder and cooking spices. In the evening, the business is available to host group meetings such as book clubs where healthy snacks can be provided.
Owner Angie Helmly is a walking testimony for her wellness programs. Weight management has been a life-long struggle for Angie, who admits she has dieted all her life. Her yo-yo dieting came to an end in February 2010 when she started eating right and exercising. Angie has since lost 65 pounds and kept off the weight.
Combining Angie’s own success with her two decade nursing career and 14 years as an educator, she decided to help others with their wellness by starting her own business. As a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators she has an accredited program for Diabetes Self Management Education.
“I love working with people and helping them to learn how to improve their lifestyle which will in turn help with diabetes control and weight loss,” explains Angie.
