New officers of the Lake Oconee Ladies Auxiliary to Elks Lodge No. #2849 (LOLA) were installed at the chapter meeting in early April. State North East VP, Mickie Emmett traveled from Gainesville to conduct the ceremony. Incoming officers include President Kathleen Sakal, Co-President Joyce Huston, Secretary Gail Niblett and Treasurer Bamby Nation. Throughout the year LOLA undertakes projects to support local, state and national charities. In the past year more than $7,000 went to Elks Aidmore, Wounded Warriors, the Elks Scholarship Program and several community service efforts.
