Southern Manor hosts first festival

- Southern Manor Farms will hold a family friendly event on Aug. 31 at 621 Wards Chapel Road, Eatonton.
Southern Manor Farms in Eatonton is having its first annual Farm Festival, Aug. 31. This Labor Day, come out to Southern Manor Farms for a fun filled day with a wide range of activities for everyone in the family.
“We guarantee they’ll be lots of food and lots to do,” said co-owner, Uyvonna Copelan.
Brother and sister owners, Danny and Uyvonna Copelan, have pulled out all the stops for this event. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. and there’s plenty to choose from. There will be a concession stand selling hamburgers, hotdogs, barbecue chicken and barbecue pork plates, and whole Boston Butts.
“With this being our first farm festival, we wanted it to be an event that no one would forget,” Copelan said.
One activity that will definitely make this an unforgettable event is zip lining.
“If you’ve never tried zip lining, now’s the perfect opportunity to give it a go,” said Copelan. The cost to zip line will be $7 and the event will be available all day during the festival. There will also be a petting zoo, hayrides, pony rides, a jump slide, and a cow milking demonstration.
While some activities are geared more towards children, the Southern Manor Farms Festival has a collection of festivities for adults as well.
“We’ll have a big screen tv set up for the GA vs. Clemson game and we’ve got a great concert in store for everyone,” she said. Starting at 6 p.m., Gannon Adams, country singer and songwriter from Mansfield Georgia will give a performance on stage for all in attendance.
Southern Manor Farms is located at 621 Wards Chapel Road.Tickets for the festival are $10 for all day, including the concert.
