October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The “Pray, Hope and Believe” Cancer Support Group is continuing the Decorate Your Bra contest thanks to Christy Thigpen, owner of Pretty in Pink in Eatonton. The group wants to thank Christy for allowing it to create community awareness in the area. The group would also like to thank all participants; by decorating a bra you’re increasing awareness as well.

The guidelines are as follows:

• An entry fee of $25 for one bra and $35 total for multiple bras will be taken in a check form made out to The American Cancer Society. On the check please put Greene or Putnam County in “For ___________.” Funds will be credited to the county of your choice. The money will be used to support American Cancer Society programs and services to those battling cancer in the county of your choice.
• Decorated bras are due to Pretty In Pink in downtown Eatonton on Saturday, Sept. 28. Starting date for drop offs will be Tuesday, Sept. 24.
• Bras can be decorated with any materials. Bear in mind that these bras will be on display in a storefront window for about 30 days.
• Starting on Tuesday, Oct. 1 anyone may come into Pretty In Pink in downtown Eatonton and vote for their favorite bra.
• Bra pickup from Pretty In Pink will be on Tuesday, Nov. 5 by 5 p.m.

A prominent male in the community will wear the winning bra to work on Thursday, Oct. 31 to culminate the awareness month.
