Sept. 12
TenderCare Clinic, 803 S. Main St., Greensboro, will host a free talk for patients, care-partners and professionals with movement disorder specialist John Morgan, MD at 6 p.m. in the clinic lobby. The Lake Oconee Tennis Association, LOTA, will present its fifth annual Classic men’s and women’s double tennis tournament. The Reynolds Plantation Lake Club tennis facility will be hosting the event. For more information visit www.lotatennis.com and click on Tournament.

Lake Oconee Dentistry, 1101 Parkside Main, invites all area residents, patients and visitors to its Community Appreciation Event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The event will feature a magic show, live music, free food for the first 500 attendees and an acrobatics show. The event will take place from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; day passes are $10 while the evening concert is $25 and limited to 350 people.
The Corry House, Union Point, will host Concert at the Corry House. Pullin’ Strings and John Dunn and the Jazzman will perform. All concert proceeds will benefit the local nonprofit organization Global Samaritans. Tickets are available at $25 per seat, or $200 per table. They can be purchased at thecorryhouse.com or globalsamaritans.org, they may also be purchased at Lakeside Baptist Church, NIBCO or at the gate.

TenderCare Clinic’s Biggest Loser Six Week Challenge will begin at 4 p.m. in the conference room. The challenge is complimentary but space is limited so participants must pre-register, forms must be obtained from the clinic, 803 S. Main St., Greensboro. For more information call 706-454-5163.

Morgan County Extension Volunteers will host their September Plant Sale. With a large selection of Pass-along and specialty plants at prices you will not want to miss, there will also be a variety of hand made yard and garden items including hypertufa pots, glass totems and flowers, hand painted pots and goards and many more. Come early for the best selections, and bring your composting questions for the Master Composter who will be on hand to guide you through the steps to create your own mulch. The event will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. both days at the County Extension Office, 440 Hancock Street, Madison (just north of the courthouse on same side of the street).

The Georgia Classic Cruisers Car Club and the Greensboro Better Hometown Program will present their annual Cruise-In Car Show from 4-8 p.m. in downtown. The Greene County Health Department, 1031 Apalachee Road, Greensboro, will host its annual Flu Shot Day. No others services will be provided at the Health Department during this time. Shots will be provided from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m.

OPAS will host Music Under the Pines at the Stables in Harbor Club. Singer, songwriter and pianist Lindy Gravelle brings a unique sound rooted in country music with added elements of rockabilly swing and pop to provide an entertaining and personal show that you will not want to miss. OPAS is pleased to present American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle in a special concert at Festival Hall in Greensboro. Melinda, along with Jim Grey and the Session Players Big Band, will bring R&B and Jazz to Lake Oconee. The first Oconee Idol winner will also perform before the show.
