Sept. 23 – Oct. 26
STMA will be hosting its fall fundraiser d’Art Shadows, on Oct. 26. From now until Oct. 25 an online Celebrity Costume Contest is ongoing as part of the event. The costume contest features 15 local “celebrities” dressed up for Halloween portraits. Each vote helps raise money for STMA’s children art programs. Tickets to the costume party are $35 and can be ordered by calling Pam at 706-342-7557. Come as your aren’t!
Oct. 1 – Nov. 8
Tri-County EMC is hosting a design contest for its 2013 Christmas Card. Students grades Kindergarten through fifth who live in a household served by Tri-County EMC may enter. For more information visit www.tri-countyemc.com.
Oct. 17 – Oct. 29
Madison Artist’s Guild will hold classes at MAGallery, 217 W. Jefferson St., Madison. A ladies night workshop will be held on jewelry making Oct. 17. An after school Art Club for kids will have its first session on Oct. 24 (and continue Nov. 7, 21 and Dec. 5). A seed bead bracelet workshop will be held Oct. 29. Oct. 18 – Nov. 22
The Plaza Arts Center, Eatonton, will host illustrator Lindy Burnett as she teaches a class on Gouache, a painting technique similar to watercolor. The Pray, Hope and Believe Cancer Support Group for Women in Greensboro, Monticello and Eatonton will meet at Putnam General Hospital, 101 Lake Oconee Parkway, Eatonton, at 6:30 in the hospital’s classroom. The Red Cross will hold a Blood Drive at Knights of Columbus, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, noon-6 p.m.

The Eatonton Putnam Arts Foundation and the Eatonton-Putnam Historical Society will host Ghosts on the Avenue Historic Walking Tour and Supper from 5-8 p.m. The ghosts of historic Eatonton characters will share fascinating stories as they greet folks outside their formers homes along Madison Avenue. The Pilot Club of Greene County is once again revving up for their annual Meadowcrest Arts and Crafts Market at the Greene County High School in Greensboro. Nov. 10
St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital invites everyone to attend a Community Open House from 2-5 p.m. to tour the new hospital at 5401 Lake Oconee Parkway. Refreshments will be served. A shuttle service will be provided from the parking lot to the facility for those in need.
Nov. 23
The Greene County Chamber of Commerce will present T. Graham Brown in concert at Festival Hall beginning at 7:30 p.m. Watch for further details on the event and visit www.greeneccoc.org for updates.
Nov. 24 – Feb. 16
The ice skating rink will be open at Reynolds Plantation. The rink is open to the general public: $30 for adults; $20 for ages 12 and under.

The Greene County Christmas Stocking Fund has announced the following volunteer dates:
Dec. 3 (1-4:30 p.m.): Clothes sorting and packing (Walkers Church)
Dec 4: Clothes bags moved to County Building (3-4 volunteers needed)
Dec 16: Initial toy sorting and counting, shopping if needed
Dec. 17-18: Toys for Tots collection, final toy sorting
Dec. 19 (9 a.m.-noon): Distribute senior gifts at Greensboro Senior Center (3-4 volunteers needed)
Dec 20: Pack toys
Dec 21: Load trucks
Dec 23 (10 a.m.-1 p.m.): Distribution to the families with children at GCHS
