Festival Hall announces new board officers

Festival Hall is pleased to announce the following Board of Director appointments: Chairman – Cynthia Smith, Vice-Chairman – Mark Lipscomb, Secretary – Valerie Duvall.

Dedicated as a performance venue and community-oriented cultural center in 2010, Festival Hall is a true source of pride for Greensboro, Greene County and the entire Lake Oconee region. The venue continues to attract national talent to its stage and offers an impressive variety of entertainment for all area citizens. From the hilarious productions of its very own community theater troupe, The Greene County Players, to OPAS sponsored gala performances; you can always count on leaving the performance center with a smile.

  • Little Roy and Lizzy – Saturday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.

Local, bluegrass and gospel favorites return to the Festival Hall stage by popular demand.

Little Roy Lewis is one of the finest guitar pickers in the world and is a member of the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. His daughter, Lizzy, is an accomplished musician and vocalist on her own right. Together with their band, they promise a fun-filled evening of exceptional music.

  • A Tribute to Tammy Wynette by Georgette Jones, Tammy Wynette’s youngest daughter – Friday, March 21 at 7 p.m.

This is a special musical tribute that only a loving daughter could create. Georgette, an amazing talent in her own right, performs all of her mother’s beloved hits flawlessly. Backed with an incredible band, the show features the Tammy Wynette songbook, a sprinkling of Georgette’s original compositions, never-heard-before stories and banter about Tammy Wynette and George Jones and a slide show of candid photos that fans of the First Lady of Country Music will surely enjoy. This is a special, magical and memorable performance that you don’t want to miss.
