Knights of Columbus announce new 4th Degree Knights

Seven men from Pope John Paul II Council 13808 were elevated to the 4th Degree of the Order on Saturday, Nov. 2. The ceremony was held at the Sonesta Hotel in Duluth and included more than 145 new 4th Degree Knights from across the state of Georgia.

Congratulations to: Bob Coletta, Rich Macchia, Mike Croxton, Tom Rouse, Fran D’Antonio, Bert Bouy and Chris Bolen.

The exemplification team was led by District Master Thomas Frizzi. Also in attendance were Knights of Columbus State Deputy Sanford Hillsman and many other state officers and dignitaries. The honoree for the exemplification was Immediate Past State Deputy Rick Sisko.

The Knights were joined by observers: Grand Knight Jim Liebeck, Deputy Grand Knight Ken Weber, Chancellor Bob Hartland, Financial Secretary Rick Clayton, PGK Wally Marcis, PGK Jerry Farnell, PGK Jim Collins, Sir Knight John Faerber and Sir Knight Larry Combs. District Deputy TJ McCaustland also observed.

The ceremony was followed by Mass and a banquet, attended by the new Sir Knights, the observers, their wives and other family members.

The Knights of Columbus is a worldwide organization made up of more than 1.8 million Catholic men. In 2012, more than $167 million and 70 million hours were donated to charitable causes including local food banks, Special Olympics, disaster relief, blood drives and a variety of community projects.
