The Eatonton-Putnam Arts Foundation will accept photos for its fifth annual Amateur Photography Show and Contest from March 10-March 17.

No photos will be accepted late. For this contest, amateur is defined as anyone who has earned less than 35 percent of his or her annual income with photography related activities in the previous 12 months and has not won any place in any contest or combination of contests five or more times in the previous 12 months.

The 13 categories for the contest are: Waterscapes & Skyscapes, Birds, Butterflies, Animals, Black and White, Country Living, Flowers, Landscapes, Portraits, International, Smorgasbord (any photograph that doesn’t fit another category), Juniors, Digital Darkroom (radically post processing image, HDR techniques etc.).  Some details and requirements have changed since the last show.  Please go to www.theplazaartscenter.com for complete rules.

Ribbons and cash prizes will be given for the Best in Show winners.  Best in Show cash awards will be $250 for the top photograph, $150 for first in show, $150 for second in show and $100 for third in show. In addition, first, second, third and fourth place ribbons will be awarded in each category.  An entry fee of $10 per photo or $50 for six photos will benefit EPAF’s PutnamARTS program.

A preview reception will be held on April 11 for photographers and their families to view the photos and learn who the winners are.  The show will be open to the public April 12-19.  The Best in Show photo will be framed and displayed in the Plaza Arts Center.  It will have a plaque on it with the photographer’s name, name of photo and year.  The Plaza Arts Center is located at 305 N. Madison Ave., Eatonton.

All amateur photographers are encouraged to share their talent and creativity with the public and to meet other people with the same passion.  Direct questions to putnamsnapper@gmail.com or call 706-485-6515 or 706-473-6035.
