According to a national survey of uninsured adults, 81 percent of uninsured Americans are unaware of the March 31 enrollment deadline, which is the last day to sign up through the Marketplace to avoid potential tax penalties. With the deadline only a month away, Putnam General Hospital has teamed up with Shannon Lester, Insurance Navigator for Putnam County, to get the word out. The hospital will host community-wide educational sessions over the “Affordable Care Act” and the Health Insurance Marketplace on March 5^th at 9 a.m., 12 p.m., and 5 p.m. The sessions will provide an overview of the marketplace, who is eligible, how to enroll, tax credits, and options for those with limited incomes. The education sessions are open to the entire community, and there is no charge to attend.
