Published 8:00 am Thursday, June 12, 2014
Lake Conditions – The lake is stained up the rivers and clearing elsewhere
Lake Water Temperature – 77-81 degrees
Largemouth Bass – GOOD – Small crankbaits and soft plastics are taking the majority of the fish. Cast lures along banks, seawalls and rip-rap and around any woody structure. Bass have begun a slow migration back to their home territory after spawning and can be found fairly shallow or moving deeper toward their summer homes.
Crappie – FAIR/GOOD –The crappie bite continues to be good even though the crappie have begun their slow migration away from the banks and to deeper bottom brushpiles and to the underwater trees. Trolling jigs over underwater trees continues to be productive. Good catches continue for anglers shooting jigs under lake docks.
Hybrid/Striped/White Bass – GOOD – The fish have moved away from the dam and can be found around humps and ledges anywhere from the dam to the Highway 44 Bridge.
Catfish – GOOD – Some big catfish are still in some of the larger main lake coves as they complete spawning. Smaller catfish can be caught with worms and other catfish bait but the larger catfish will bite best on live bait, cut bait or bream heads.
