On Sept. 18, 1895, the first Chiropractic adjustment was given by Dr. DD Palmer to Harvey Lillard. Mr. Lillard was nearly totally deaf for 17 years. After the historic first adjustment, Harvey’s hearing returned. This revelation led Dr. Palmer to theorize that nerve interference from a spinal bone out of place was the cause of Harvey’s hearing loss. He further postulated that returning the bone to a more normal position might help correct the problem. It was from this simple beginning that Chiropractic was born. Pure Chiropractic celebrated the 118th anniversary of Chiropractic with a series of informative coaching sessions, Patient Appreciation Day and a $100 Visa Gift Card giveaway.

Dr. Ted Smith, Wellness Chiropractor, and owner of Pure Chiropractic, and Dr. Jamie Adams, Wellness Chiropractor at Pure Chiropractic Milledgeville began the series on Sept. 5 with Raising a Healthy Drug Free Family. Dr. Ted and Dr. Jamie shared how implementing a few simple changes such as a well-balanced diet and exercise program can put you on the path to better health. They went on to explain how including Chiropractic as part of your overall wellness plan can boost the body’s ability to heal itself. Dr. Ted and Dr. Jamie believe there is a time and place for modern medicine but it shouldn’t be the first step in any wellness program. Our bodies are amazing and wonderfully made and by feeding the body properly and treating subluxation (the misalignment of the spine) the body can many times heal itself without the need of pharmaceutical drugs.

On Sept. 12 guests who attended the second coaching session of the series, 8 Laws of Life, learned eight essential steps everyone should put into action to live healthier lives. On Sept. 17 Dr. Ted and Dr. Jamie shared Process vs. Event. What’s the difference and how do our bodies react? On Sept. 18 Pure Chiropractic patients enjoyed BBQ sundaes at the Milledgeville and Lake Oconee locations as part of the Pure Chiropractic Patient Appreciation Day.

“We feel very blessed to have such phenomenal patients. If we can provide them with the tools and knowledge they need to make better health choices then that’s what we’re going to do. We look at all of our patients as being part of our family. This is just our way of letting them know we care about them and we appreciate them,” said Dr. Ted.

In addition to the coaching sessions and the Patient Appreciation Day, Pure Chiropractic also gave away a $100 Visa Gift Card.

The last coaching session of the series, The 4 Pillars of Optimal Health was Sept. 23.
