Tasties, Toddies and Theatrics returns to Festival Hall

Mark your calendars now. The lake community’s popular Tasties, Toddies and Theatrics returns to Festival Hall in mid-August. The Greene County Players invite you to come along and sing the lullaby of Broadway in downtown Greensboro. Light supper fare, dessert and libations will be available throughout the course of the evening. Inviting cabaret seating and soft lighting will transform the venue into a metropolitan nightclub.

To kick off Tasties, Toddies and Theatrics, Artistic Director John Copelan welcomes back headliners Jeffrey Wells and Gene Yaws. Both widely acclaimed stars bring their celebrated voices to the stage and draw us into the music of the night. Many gifted vocalists from Madison will join Greensboro talent to bring you the lyrics that have captivated our hearts over the decades. This year we are pleased to introduce a chorus of young people who will take on the roles of the Von Trapp children in a Sound of Music segment.  American Idol contestant, Joshua Hudson, will portray Friedrich, the Captain’s eldest son, and will also delight us with a selection from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. This year’s cabaret includes all new songs under the music direction of The Greene County Player’s own Jeremy Skidmore.

Topping off the evening, theater goers will travel across the Pond to Pimlico Square for the one-act romantic comedy, A Little Brit of Romance. It seems that the full moon can make merry old England even merrier when it comes to matters of the heart. This amusing farce takes place at Happy Hobson’s Rooftop Rendevous. Besides laughter, another takeaway will be that you will check reviews on restaurants when visiting London in the future.

Last year Tasties, Toddies and Theatrics sold out within two weeks. Tickets are currently on sale and are strong. The show runs Aug. 14, 15 and 16 at downtown Festival Hall in Greensboro. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. You may purchase table seating for parties of six or eight. Individual tickets may also be purchased. Ticket price is $40. Call Festival Hall at 762-243-8022 to reserve your table or seat.
