Lake Conditions – The lake is lightly stained up the rivers and clear elsewhere

Lake Water Temperature – 85-87 degrees – Cooler temperatures this week might help the bite.

Largemouth Bass – FAIR – A white buzzbait and Trick worms might get you a bite early in the day around rip-rap, docks and seawalls.. As the sun heats up your best bet is to fish deeper water around ledges and humps where the Carolina rig and deep diving crankbaits are enticing strikes. The presence of current is extremely important now.

Crappie – GOOD –The crappie bite continues to be good in the deeper brushpiles and underwater trees. Best bet is to locate the deep brushpiles and trees (10-20 feet) and drop a minnow or jig for best action.

Hybrid/Striped/White Bass – FAIR –Some fish are showing up and surface feeding on points from the Highway 44 Bridge to the Wallace Dam. A popping cork with a small Thing popper attached will catch those surface feeding fish but most of the fish are small white and hybrid bass.

Catfish – GOOD – The catfish are in the main lake and larger creeks and some really big catfish are being caught. Smaller catfish can be caught with worms and other catfish bait but the larger catfish will bite better on live bait, cut bait or bream heads.
