The Oconee Regional Humane Society (ORHS) has been voted “Lake Area Best Non-Profit” for the past two years.
The organization has been working to improve the lives of dogs and cats in Greene and Putnam counties for 15 years. ORHS relies on cash donations from individuals and corporations, and is run primarily by volunteers. To celebrate their 15 years of service to this community ORHS is hosting an anniversary party and Treasure Sale this coming Oct. 17 and 18.
Please consider supporting this great organization! Here is how you can help. ORHS is accepting donations now. Please box up those items in your home and garage that you no longer use and are just taking up space. You can drop off donations between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the ORHS Adoption Center located at 1020 Park Avenue, Suite 101 (off Lake Oconee Parkway behind the Georgia Bulldog Club). If time is an issue or you have already cleared out those unwanted items, you may want to consider a cash donation.
Local businesses are being sought for event sponsorships. A small donation can make a huge difference!
Everyone is invited to join the festivities. Come for a great BBQ burger, free piece of cake, find a treasure piece at garage sale prices, pet a cute kitten or puppy, and win a raffle.
Mark your calendars for Oct. 17 and 18 and stay posted for additional information.
