Lake Oconee Tennis Association

Awesome tennis took place recently as players converged on Greensboro from far and near to participate in the sixth annual Lake Oconee Tennis Association’s (LOTA) Classic doubles tournament. Ninety-six players participated this year with proceeds benefitting the Oconee Regional Humane Society (ORHS.) LOTA proudly announces that over $4500 was raised for ORHS.

Hosted by Reynolds Plantation Lake Club tennis facility the weekend of September 19th, 20th and 21st, spectacular weather prevailed at this year’s competition which included men’s AA, A, B and C divisions and women’s A, B, C and D divisions.

Thursday evening Richard’s Classic Wines kicked off this year’s event by hosting a “Draw Party” at Richard’s Wine Bar that included complimentary wine and a dinner buffet.

Saturday evening was highlighted by a celebration event for players, their guests and tournament sponsors that included a dinner catered by Save Room for Seconds and dancing to the best party band around, Fuzzy & The Works.

Sunday finals were as competitive as ever with many neck-and-neck three-set matches. The viewing areas and center court stands were filled with not only players but non-playing spectators who came to watch and cheer the finalists.
