Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor Tom Cornelia presents Reid Conklin of Second Harvest $1,080 as beneficiary of the Morgan Stanley’s 'Charity of the Quarter.'

GREENSBORO — Greensboro’s Second Harvest, Inc was selected as the 3rd Quarter 2014 “Charity of the Quarter” by the Morgan Stanley Atlanta Perimeter Complex. Nominated by Financial Advisor Tom Cornelia, this award provides a financial donation to Second Harvest from all fundraising activities of the 8 complex branch offices held during the 3rd Quarter. The various raffles and fund raising efforts of the Morgan Stanley employees raised $1,080.

Second Harvest, Inc. is a project of the Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties and operates a food distribution the third Saturday of each month at the Greene County High School. The last event resulted in about 14,000 pounds of food distributed to 266 families who represented 788 individuals.  Those numbers represent the most families and individuals Second Harvest has served at a Saturday distribution since 2011. Moreover, they helped 176 people over 60 years of age and 234 people under 18 years of age.  This continues a pattern of over 50% of their recipients falling into the under 18 and over 60 categories which indicates they are doing a great job of reaching those that probably need them most.
