First United Methodist Festival of Carols set for Dec. 14

- Greensboro First United Methodist Church will present its annual Christmas Cantata, Festival of Carols, at the church’s Carey Station Road campus on December 14 at 7 p.m. Joining the Chancel Choir will be guest vocalists and instrumental musicians. This magnificent event is always a highlight of the holiday season.
GREENSBORO — Mark your calendars for the Greensboro First United Methodist Church Annual Christmas Cantata to be held at the Carey Station Road Campus on Dec. 14 at 7 p.m. The magnificent Festival of Carols will be performed by the First United Methodist Chancel Choir, under the direction of Dawn Ruppelt and Mark Ruppelt. The public is invited to the performance, which will also feature guest vocalists from around the community. Accompanying the voices raised in praise to honor the birth of Christ will be talented musicians from the church: Lindsay Lipscomb on piano, Dawn Ruppelt on organ, and Kim McClain on keyboard. In addition, guest musicians from around the region will lend inspiring instrumental accompaniment on a variety of orchestral instruments.
A reception with cookies and coffee in the lofty narthex, resplendent in glittering decorations of the season, will follow the performance of the cantata. All attending are invited to join in this spectacular celebration of the Christmas season.
Other important upcoming Greensboro First United Methodist Church events of the holiday season are two Christmas Eve Services, set for both church campuses. The historic downtown Greensboro sanctuary will hold its Christmas Eve service at 5 p.m. The Christmas Eve service at the church’s Carey Station Road campus will be held at 7 p.m.
Residents and visitors from the local and regional communities are invited to attend these significant Christmas events that honor and celebrate the birth of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
