GREENSBORO — The Harbor Club Ladies League began their October luncheon meeting with a social hour at The Boathouse.

Brenda Hill introduced new members, Doris Burwell, Shirley Smith, Renee Grill, Mika Mills and Candi Russell. She also stated that HCLL member Debbie Burns had been voted Volunteer of the Year by the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club. Burns then invited all to attend the Moonlight and Motown concert at the Harbor Club Carriage House on Oct. 25, benefiting the Boys & Girls Club.

Dale Fahey had the Christmas Children’s gift lists available for those who wish to sponsor a child. Dottie Suggs announced the Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament held at Harbor Club netted more than $7,000 with donations still coming in. Dannelle Borland thanked all those who participated in the food drive; more than a half-ton was collected for those in need.

Jeanie Folsom and Kathy Moody of the activities committee have plans for several trips to Atlanta in the coming months: the Alliance Theater to see, “Steel Magnolias,” the Marist Holiday Arts & Crafts Show in November and a tour of the Governor’s Mansion in December.

Debbie Cherry then introduced Ken and Kim Hodges from Deer Run Farms in Eatonton, who created and taught the ladies how to make beautiful, festive wreaths for the holidays. They also donated two wreaths towards the door prizes. Lucky door prize winners were: Marjorie Bates, Sheila Connelly, Carol Fick, Renee Grill and Terri Ligon.
