Business students earn Microsoft Office Specialist Certification

GREENSBORO — Twelve GCHS Business Communications students recently took and passed the Microsoft Office Specialist Exam. This industry-recognized certification has been instrumental in helping students acquire competitive jobs. This test also serves as the End of Pathway Assessment for the Business and Technology Career Pathway. The current pass rate for GCHS is 86 percent. This is the fourth year this test has been given at Greene County High School. Each year GCHS’s pass rate has surpassed the state average.

Three have earned their certification in multiple areas. Lauren Jackson and Abigail Johnson are now certified in Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. Elsa Dominguez is certified in Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook. Kati Mize, pathway instructor, plans to offer additional certification opportunities spring semester.

Students who earned their certification are: Xzavier Wright, Gavin Greene, Bernice Castro, Amber Porter, Haley Golson, Phillip Hubbard, Abigail Johnson, Trey Christopher, Lauren Jackson, Elsa Dominguez, Diamond Smith, and Alexis Shockley.
