Dec. 6

Come celebrate the holiday season at Crooked Pines Farm’s Holiday Celebration.  From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. enjoy hayrides, our elf workshop, carnival games, shopping in our country store, storytime with Mrs. Clause and visit with Santa from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Admission is $5.  Don’t forget to bring your toys to our Toys for Tots Toy Drive! Christmas at Step back, a walking tour of Stepback, Ga., an early 1900s rural community decorated for Christmas will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Step back in time for an up close and personal look into the 20 buildings furnished with period antiques and accessories. Enjoy old time gospel in the church, chat with the general store manager, see the grist mill with its 12 foot wheel, and follow the creek to find a liquor still. Join us for A Very Merry Grinchmas Party at Crooked Pines Farm on Friday, December 19th from 12:30 until 5:30 p.m.  The kids will want something fun to do so let them join us for all things Who! Harmony Hospice is seeking volunteers from ages 14 to 114 to assist patients and families with companionship, errands, art projects, journaling, meal preparation, baking, supply delivery and even dog walking, yard services or wheel chair ramp construction. We are actively seeking a local stylist to assist patients in their homes with haircuts. Opportunities are endless and a true gift. We are happy to have volunteers in the office as well or volunteers to assist with special events. Ongoing volunteer training sessions will run throughout the spring and summer. Lake Oconee Landscape Association has formed to promote professionalism in the green industry. All members of LOLA are required to be licensed, insured and reputable. LOLA members provide services such as: landscape installation, maintenance, lawn and shrub fertilization, weed control, garden centers and all outdoor needs. LOLA is a nonprofit organization to assist consumers in Greene, Putnam, Morgan and Baldwin counties to select quality landscape professionals.
