GREENSBORO — Reynolds Plantation is pleased to welcome John Shea as director of Restaurant Services. Originally from Garden City, Long Island, N.Y., Shea brings with him more than 34 years of food and beverage experience from some of the finest country clubs and resorts in the U.S. Most recently, Shea served as director of Food and Beverage at Belmont Country Club, in Ashburn, Va. with more than 2,200 members.
Shea’s previous management experience includes Lansdowne Resort, Boca Raton Resort & Club, Kingston Plantation, as well as restaurant manager at Windows on the World within the World Trade Center New York. His ability to develop strong relationships with members, and his commitment to all aspects of operation, including enhancing service, staffing and training, make him an ideal candidate for his new role at Reynolds Plantation. “I’m excited about bringing a high level of professional but personalized service to the clubhouses at Reynolds Plantation,” said Shea. “It’s our goal to ensure that the level of service is consistent between all outlets. From clubhouse to clubhouse the only change noticed from the service experience should be what is found on the menu.”
He and his wife Ellen will be relocating to the Lake Oconee area from Northern Virginia. Ellen works as a financial adviser and holds an MBA, a law degree and a masters in forensic accounting. John has two sons that reside in California. When not working, John enjoys golf and Ellen enjoys playing tennis – two activities that will be easy to entertain in their new setting.
