Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation Cameron Hampton Workshop Series
The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) is currently offering a unique series of one-day Saturday workshops with Cameron Hampton. Workshops are taught in a casual studio environment with hands-on demonstrations by the instructor. You can take just one class or all (separate fee for each) as each class will focus on a different medium &/or technique. Workshops are currently offered in Drawing, Watercolor, Pastels and Sculpture. Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation – The Great Folk Parade
Opening Reception: Friday, Jan. 23, 6-8 p.m.
“THE GREAT FOLK PARADE,” curated by Artist and Collector Peter Loose, is the largest exhibit of work by self-taught artists of the South in recent history. The exhibit celebrates the extraordinary work created by the late, great Howard Finster, Annie G. Wellborn, RA Miller and Bennie Morrison as well as living artists Miz Thang, Clyde Jones and Tex Crawford to name a few. Sculptures, in the OCAF’s permanent collections, of local Folk star Harold Rittenbury will also be featured.
Opening in conjunction will be “Crescent Lane Rug Hookers,” an exhibit showcasing true works of art in both contemporary and traditional styles. Using a wide range of fabric colors and textures, the Crescent Lane Rug Hookers create complex designs showcasing the artisans’ unique ability to express ideas through this engaging medium.
An Opening Reception for both exhibits will be held Friday, Jan. 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both exhibits will be on display I OCAF’s galleries, located at 34 School St., Watkinsville. For more information, go to www.ocaf.com .

Here Comes the Bride Vendor Showcase will take place Sunday, February 22 from noon until 4 p.m. at The Barn at Crooked Pines Farm located at 355 Harmony Road in Eatonton, Georgia. Brides will have the chance to tour The Barn, chat with our preferred vendors, visit with event coordinators, and get inspired by the latest wedding trends. The Georgia College Community Dance Program is accepting new enrollments for its classes held Tuesdays at the Plaza Arts Center in Eatonton. The Creative Movement Class is for children 3-4 years old and meets from 4:15-5 p.m. The Ballet I class is for beginning students ages 5 and up. It meets from 5-5:45 p.m. Classes will begin Jan. 6, 2015.

Harmony Hospice is seeking volunteers from ages 14 to 114 to assist patients and families with companionship, errands, art projects, journaling, meal preparation, baking, supply delivery and even dog walking, yard services or wheel chair ramp construction. We are actively seeking a local stylist to assist patients in their homes with haircuts. Opportunities are endless and a true gift. We are happy to have volunteers in the office as well or volunteers to assist with special events. Ongoing volunteer training sessions will run throughout the spring and summer. Addiction – Parent and Family Support Group. Join us for an open discussion in a confidential setting. Lake Oconee Landscape Association has formed to promote professionalism in the green industry. All members of LOLA are required to be licensed, insured and reputable. LOLA members provide services such as: landscape installation, maintenance, lawn and shrub fertilization, weed control, garden centers and all outdoor needs. LOLA is a nonprofit organization to assist consumers in Greene, Putnam, Morgan and Baldwin counties to select quality landscape professionals.
