GREENSBORO —
It is with great excitement and pleasure that Greensboro First United Methodist announces the arrival of Chad and Ashlee Swift to the church staff. The Swifts will serve as Ministers to Young Adults and Families with Children and Youth. They look forward to an exciting year ahead and plan to use their wealth of experience in this area and significant musical talents to serve the families and youth from the Greene, Putnam and Morgan County region. The Swifts and their three children, Grace, Asa and Faith, have moved to Greensboro from the metro Atlanta area.
Chad Swift brings more than 20 years of experience in church leadership, Bible teaching, mentoring and mission work. He holds bachelor’s degrees in religion, philosophy and psychology. In addition, he is a talented musician — proficient on multiple instruments — including guitar, bass, keys, percussion and the dulcimer. In addition, he possesses expertise in mixed martial arts, the Hebrew language and media technology.
Ashlee Swift holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and has worked in that field for several years. She has always been active and involved with Chad in church work.
Both Swifts enjoy their ministry together and as a family. A week after their marriage they were involved in a youth mission trip, building a school for deaf children in Jamaica. More recently, they helped develop a hybrid Christian-based home school academy, where Ashlee is currently teaching. They will be working as a team with children, youth and their families with Ashlee having primary responsibility for a dynamic children’s ministry.
Senior Pastor, Mike Morgan, church staff and the entire congregation welcome Chad and Ashlee Swift and invite area families with children to visit both First United Methodist Church campuses to meet our new ministers and join in their new programs. The historic North FUMC campus is located in downtown Greensboro on Broad Street. The new South FUMC campus is on Carey Station Road, across from Lake Oconee Academy and near the Del Web Community.
Sunday worship services are held at each campus. South Campus service is at 9:15 a.m. and North Campus service at 11 a.m. Sunday school for all ages begins at 10 a.m. at North Campus and 10:30 a.m. at South Campus. Children and Youth activities are held on Sunday evenings, beginning at 5 p.m. During the week, the active congregation serves the community with involvement in exciting mission projects, Bible study and life enrichment courses.
