The kids and grownups attending the Greene County Library’s 2015 Vacation Reading Program came together one last time on June 25 for reading awards and the annual Pizza Party. Balloon artist, Greg Brosman opened the festivities by creating a myriad of balloon characters and critters for his audience. He also gave the kids a chance to try their hand at creating their own and all were able to take something home with them.

Using this year’s theme, “Every Hero Has A Story”, the different age groups were encouraged to read and learn about past and present heroes, those known and those lesser known. Those having the most hours read in each group were then awarded a prize. Winners are:Oliver Page (0-4), Celia O’Shea (K-5) Sarah Spivey (6-12), Anna O’Hanlon (Parents as Reading Partners) and Bill Darfler (Adult). Every child was a winner as they went home with a gift certificate for a free pizza donated by our local Pizza Hut!
