Michael Dwayne Bailey, 41, was charged with aggravated robbery and evading. His daughter Megan Lynn Bailey, 19, was charged with aggravated robbery.

CLEBURNE, Texas — The bond between 41-year-old Michael Bailey and his 19-year-old daughter Megan Bailey resulted in bonds—$500,000 for him, $25,000 for her—after the duo was arrested for robbing a bank Thursday in Grandview, Texas.

“A single actor goes in and pulls a handgun on the teller and gets money,” Johnson County Sheriff Bob Alford said. “He had on a hat and bandana which was hard to make recognition.”

Police say the masked man was Bailey, who after fleeing with an unspecified amount of cash around noon led police from several area departments on a high-speed chase through two counties that at one point reached 150 mph. Riding shotgun was Megan Bailey, who police say stayed in the car while her father was inside the bank.

“Her involvement was that she was in a vehicle and her dad, who committed the robbery, he told her that he planned to rob a bank but she didn’t know that she was going to do that right then and there,” said Grandview Police Chief Curran Massey.

Police took the pair into custody after the car they were driving crashed in a ditch. Neither were injured.

Alford said his officers recovered a Smith & Wesson semiautomatic handgun from the suspect’s vehicle.

Michael Bailey was charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest, and Megan Bailey with aggravated robbery.
