Published 8:00 am Thursday, February 4, 2016
Lake Conditions – The main lake is muddy with some clearing in Richland Creek.
Lake Water Temperature – 45-50 degrees
Largemouth Bass – SLOW – The muddy to severely stained and cold water continues to have a negative impact on fishing success. The fish are still in the coves and the creeks but many of the fish have begun a move back to the main lake. Shallow fish can be caught on jigs, crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Some fish are beginning to hit spoons in the somewhat clearer water in Richland Creek.
Crappie – GOOD – The trolling bite has really picked up now with the crappie located in the mouths of large coves and creeks. A good number of the fish being caught now are over one pound.
Striped Bass/White Bass/Hybrid Bass – FAIR/GOOD – The muddy to severely stained water conditions continues to have a negative impact on angler success but some anglers are catching fish on spoons near the dam where clearer water can be found. A good number of fish are in the coves and can be caught on live bait.
Catfish – NO REPORT.
