Lake Oconee Breeze

GREENSBORO — The Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club (PNC) announced its annual spring fundraiser, Glitz at the Ritz on Lake Oconee (Glitz), will be held April 16 at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge at Lake Oconee.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a welcome reception followed by a seated dinner and dancing to the tunes of Eddie Byrd and the Good Vibrations Band. Tickets are $130 per person.

“We are so excited about this year’s Glitz at the Ritz,” said Debbie Burns, Glitz event chair and PNC board member. “We’ve made a conscious effort to tie the community into the event through our silent auction by showcasing local artists.”

Burns and her team of volunteers enlisted local artists to paint custom adirondack chairs. The thought was to brand the event with custom chairs that could only be bid on at Glitz. Local residents and businesses could then display the chairs as functional, yet decorative conversation pieces. The adirondack chairs will be a commodity that will be sought each year by those who attend the event.

“The artists have blown us away with their creative ideas,” said Burns.

The funds raised at Glitz will be used to support the efforts and mission PNC, “to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring responsible citizens.”
