Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church invites you to join us for the following Holy Week services: Sunday, March 20 – Palm Sunday, 10:30 a.m. As we open worship singing a Palm Sunday hymn, our children will march down with palm leaves commemorating the welcome given to Jesus as he entered Jerusalem. The sermon, “Celebration of the People,” will take us through the section of Psalm 118 that was being shouted by the people when they saw Jesus. Thursday, March 24 – Maundy Thursday, 7:00 p.m. We will commemorate the first Lord’s Supper by observing the sacrament that Christ instituted. The sermon, “Celebration of the Victor,” continues to examine Psalm 118, the final psalm that Jesus most likely sang with his disciples, and which would have prepared him for his great battle on the cross. Friday, March 25 – Good Friday, Noon – 12:40 p.m. Hear from the secret, fearful disciple, Joseph of Arimathea, who found courage to render the last act of loving care for his Lord following the crucifixion. Sunday, March 27 – Resurrection Sunday, 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. We will have two identical hours of worship. There will be no adult or children’s Sunday school classes.
