Lake Conditions – Most of the lake has some stain but some of the creeks are clear.
Lake Water Temperature – 68 degrees
Largemouth Bass – GOOD – The bass are continuing to spawn and a shad spawn has also begun spawning. The fish are shallow around shoreline structure including blowdowns, seawalls, sandy areas and boat docks. It’s time to spend all your time in waters in shallow water. Good lure choices are small crankbaits (Shad Raps), Rat-L-Traps, jigs, plastic lizards (Texas rigs and Carolina rigs), shaky heads and spinnerbaits. For the shad spawn use flukes, Shad Raps, Trick worms and spinnerbaits.
Crappie – GOOD/FAIR – The trolling bite continues to be good. The crappie are moving away from spawning areas. They are still in the coves and creeks around underwater trees and brushpiles. The crappie have now begin their slow migration back to the main lake and larger creeks.
Striped Bass/White Bass/Hybrid Bass – GOOD – The fish have moved to spawning areas up the creeks and rivers which are prime locations but the area in front of the dam is good now. Live bait and spoons will catch those fish.
Catfish – NO REPORT
