Published 5:30 am Thursday, May 26, 2016

Lake Conditions – Most of the lake has some stain but most of the creeks are clear.

Lake Water Temperature – mid 70s

Largemouth Bass – GOOD – The fish remain shallow around shoreline structure including blowdowns, seawalls, sandy areas and boat docks. Good lure choices are small crankbaits (Shad Raps), Rat-L-Traps, plastic lizards/worms (Texas rigs and Carolina rigs), shaky heads and spinnerbaits. There might be some shad still spawning early in the morning and if that occurs, use flukes, Shad Raps, Trick worms and spinnerbaits to catch fish chasing the shad.

Crappie – GOOD/FAIR -T he crappie are moving to their summertime locations around ledges and underwater trees where jigs and minnows will catch those fish.

Striped Bass/White Bass/Hybrid Bass – GOOD – The fish have pretty much moved away from the dam and are relocating around humps and ledges. Live bait, spoons and umbrella rigs are the beast choices.

Catfish – GOOD – The catfish will be moving into the coves to spawn when the water temperature reaches the upper 70s and low 80s. Cut bait (bream and shad) and live bait (bream and shad) are the best baits. Currently the mouths of coves and main lake points heading into the spawning coves are holding fish.
