Lake Oconee Breeze

It was a very historic day at the Great Waters Clubhouse in Reynolds Lake Oconee on April 20, as 25 years of Plantation Ladies Club (PLC) past presidents gathered with current members.

The meeting was held to commemorate the Silver Anniversary of PLC. Now over five hundred members strong, it was started in 1991 with a handful of women meeting in personal homes. Today, meetings are often sold out, and reservations must be made early to claim a spot in the largest of Reynolds Lake Oconee Clubhouse dining venues.

Several past presidents traveled in for this event, joining those who live in Reynolds Lake Oconee. Each past president was recognized, and asked to speak briefly about what made her year special. Beautifully worded, eloquent, and often humorous, these recollections made an impact on all present, who felt the strong bonds tying them together.

Often, lasting friendships are formed when members attend their first year of meetings and join a book club. The foresight of the founding members, as well as the energy and organization of all the past presidents, have touched many hundreds of Reynolds ladies over the past 25 years.

The champagne lunch and meeting, organized by current president Carol Lynch, and her stellar board, were a wonderful tribute and celebration honoring the gifts and talents of these fine women.
