GREENSBORO — Officers of the Lake Country Board of Realtors® (LCBOR) recently toured the Pete Nance Boys & Girls Club facility in Greensboro Georgia. They were hosted by Landers Thomas, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Georgia, Bob Mackey, Sr. Director & Organization Trainer of the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club and several children who are in the club for the season. Summer camp at the club was in full swing, and LCBOR members interacted with the children in the art room, computer lab, technology room and the gym, which the BGCA shared with the Greene County Elementary School. The teens also showcased their garden, and discussed how this ongoing project has instilled in them the values of hard work and its rewards.

The National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) began collaborating this year to make a difference in the lives of children across the country. “It is important for Realtors to support the community where we live and work, and I am proud of this initiative from NAR, as it directly impacts the lives of children in our area,” said Riezl Baker, President of the Lake Country Board of Realtors.

At the culmination of the visit, LCBOR presented a donation check in the amount of two thousand dollars to the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Georgia. This donation came from two fundraising events hosted by the association

“They are in the process of creating a performing arts area for the kids and will use the LCBOR’s donation for this project. I’m excited to return and see it completed”, said Nicole Richard, Association Executive of LCBOR.

The Lake Country Board of Realtors is a local organization that represents over 300 member Realtors and affiliates in five counties: Greene, Putnam, Morgan, Jasper and Hancock.
