The Waterside

EATONTON — Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee is happy to announce that The Waterside Restaurant will reopen August 17, 2016. With the transition of the resort to a private golf community, the space that inhabited the shore overlooking the 10th hole will now be utilized for all food and beverage operations. After much deliberation, General Manager Jarrod Clark feels this move to the Waterside facilities not only makes sense logistically but utilizes the beautiful space as it was intended. “We have a wonderful amenity on Lake Oconee, and it was a waste not having a restaurant run out of that location. We think both our Members and guests will be just as excited as we are about the changes being made,” Clark says.

The new Food and Beverage Director, Bert Morales, comes to Cuscowilla from Horseshoe Bend Country Club in Roswell, Georgia with a wealth of experience leading food and beverage teams in both Director of Operations and General Manager positions. “We are extremely excited to get things going at The Waterside. We think both our Members and guests will enjoy their dining experience at Cuscowilla much better with a beautiful view of Lake Oconee. I hope that my experience brings a fresh, new look on dining at the lake. The Waterside will be open to the public, so we anticipate both Member and guests alike will make the Waterside their favorite place for lakeside dining once again,” states Morales. He, along with The Waterside’s Manager, Matthew Harper, and Chef de Cuisine, Jeffery Miller will be providing guests with great service in a laidback atmosphere highlighting a menu centered on casual fare using fresh, high quality ingredients. Many of the known favorites for Cuscowilla will remain on the menu including the Colossal Crab Cake, but new dishes will make their debut including Shrimp and Grits and Boneless Braised Short Ribs. The bar area has added new draft beer taps totaling six drafts featuring locally brewed favorites from Southern Brewing Company.

The restaurant is open to the public, and along with happy hour on Wednesday through Friday evenings from 4 to 6 pm, there will be live music every Wednesday and Saturday night. Tim Cadiere, a favorite around the lake, will open up the first Wednesday night on August 17th. Enjoy outdoor seating or inside the newly refurbished dining and sun rooms.
