Bookcase at Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club in honor of Jim Choomack

The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties recently honored Rev. Dr. Jim Choomack for his many years of service to the Club.  He has recently retired as a Presbyterian minister and relocated with his wife Carol to Birmingham, Alabama.

Rev. Choomack has been an ordained minister for over 35 years. He has been active in the Rotary Club for many years, serving as president of two different clubs.  His achievements have been measured in the lives he has touched through his Christian ministry. Jim has always been active in civic organizations devoted to promoting the betterment of community. The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties nominated Rev. Choomack in 2008 and 2014 as their Robert S. Stubbs II Guardian of Ethics award winner for his dedication to conduct himself with high ethical standards.

Rev. Choomack has a passion for education and was a frequent reader to students at the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club.  In honor of his retirement, the Rotary Club purchased a bookcase for the Pete Nance Boys and Girls Club.  The hope is that his dedication there will be felt for years to come by the many students who will enjoy it.

The Rotary Club will miss Jim and his service to our community and wishes him the best of luck in his retirement.
